To intensify its partnership with the private sector, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources XI (BFAR XI) has partnered with FINTECH Ventures, Inc. to undertake a Multi-Species Hatchery, Nursery and Fish Cage Culture Project. The primary objective of this partnership is to address the country’s decline in the availability of quality and affordable fry.

The official agreement was formalized through the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between BFAR XI Regional Director, Raul C. Millana, and the President of Fintech Ventures, Inc., Engr. Arturo B. Uy, Jr. during the groundbreaking ceremony on July 18 at Brgy. San Isidro, Padada, Davao del Sur.

BFAR XI Regional Director, Raul C. Millana, envisions more Public-Private Partnership on fisheries projects to develop the fisheries industry, thereby achieving food security, more employment opportunities, and increase productivity of aquaculture while maintaining ecological balance.
