BFAR XI takes a significant step towards achieving zero hunger and a more food-secure Philippines by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in support of the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP).

The MoU was inked today, March 26, 2024, by BFAR XI OIC Regional Director Relly B. Garcia, alongside heads from various agencies.

The signing ceremony took place during the event titled ‘Panaghiusa sa Onse,’ spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI, with the theme ‘Harmony in Innovation, Bridging Boundaries through Convergence.’

The event commemorated the successful three-year implementation of EPAHP, highlighting its positive impacts on community-based organizations and the importance of synergistic efforts and convergence with 28 national government agencies, including DA XI, DAR XI, DILG XI, DEPED XI, DOH XI, DOST XI, DTI XI, DBM XI, DICT XI, TESDA XI, among others.

The memorandum signing symbolizes BFAR XI’s commitment to sustaining and enhancing the success of EPAHP through strengthened partnerships and concerted efforts with other government agencies in the region.

This initiative also represents the Philippines’ long-term vision and aspirations for the Filipino people, aligned with Ambisyon Natin 2040 of matatag (strongly rooted), maginhawa (comfortable), and panatag (secure), making strides toward realizing the Sustainable Development Goal of zero hunger, leaving no one behind and building a prosperous and food-secure Philippines.
