BFAR XI’s Committed to Ensure Unhampered Movement of all Cargoes and Fishery Inputs in Davao Region
In line with the implementation of Davao City's Enhanced Community Quarantine under EO 23, series of 2020, BFAR XI’s Regional Director Fatma M. Idris assures the public that the Bureau shall center its efforts and will stay committed to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases' (IATF-EID) approved measures as well as the Department of Agriculture (DA) Supplemental Memorandum Circular on Enhanced Community Quarantine, ensuring the Unhampered movement of all cargoes, agriculture and fishery inputs, food products and agribusiness personnel nationwide.
Under the memorandum, all farming and fishing activities shall continue to ensure sufficient food supply across the country.
It was also stated that all farmers and farm workers, fisherfolk and agribusiness personnel shall be exempted from doing home quarantine provided that 1) one does not exhibit any one of the symptoms of COVID-19 2) number of working farmers/fisherfolk/farm personnel is at a minimum 3) Safety protocols are ensured and social distancing is practiced in the workplace.
These protocols were crafted to ensure continuous and enough supply of food items in the country during this enhanced community quarantine.
