Davao de Oro fisherfolk receives livelihood opportunities

MABINI—BFAR XI through the Provincial Fisheries Office of Davao de Oro turned-over 6 units of 20-footer and 6 units of 30-footer Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) banca to Davao de Oro last September 15 and 17, 2020. Along with this, 115 fisherfolk beneficiaries received various fishing gears and paraphernalia from the Bureau.
The provision of the said units was to equip and strengthen the capacity of the fisherfolk by providing them with appropriate livelihood opportunities.
Meanwhile, a blessing and turn-over ceremony of the Community Fish Landing Center (CFLC) to LGU-Mabini was also simultaneously conducted in the province. Mr. Raul C. Millana, Assistant Regional Director of BFAR XI was also present during the activity.
These programs were implemented to increase fish production in the three coastal municipalities of the province of Davao de Oro namely Maco, Mabini, and Pantukan.
The said activities were in coordination with the Local Government Units and Provincial Agriculture Office of Davao de Oro. (IEC)
