BFAR XI ventures Livelihood Opportunities for LSIs

DAVAO CITY—BFAR XI official, Dir. Raul C. Millana convened with Ms. Christina Mendrico of Mensahe TV and representative of E Grace Food last October 30, 2020. Ms. Mendrico introduced a sustainable project scheme and rationalized system for export-oriented and domestic-oriented enterprises, as well as support for micro, small and medium enterprises to qualified beneficiaries.
The meeting centered its discussion on strategizing how they can provide a sustainable livelihood assistance that would greatly benefit the Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs). They plan to conduct trainings on value added products and provide them with necessary support in marketing which includes the sourcing of packaging materials to fully equip them in the export industry.
The assistance shall first entail identification of rightful beneficiaries. The scheme involves a family base intervention and clustering or consolidation of small and medium entrepreneur pursuant to Secretary William Dar’s 8 Agriculture Paradigms.
BFAR XI has consistently assisted LSIs in the past. Under the Hatid Tulong Program, BFAR XI has given aid to around 600 LSIs.
