ASSEC. LACISTE CONDUCTS MONITORING AND VALIDATION IN DAVAO REGION

Assistant Secretary for the Department of Agriculture (DA)-Wide Field Inspectorate PBGEN. Federico Laciste, Jr. (Ret) led the conduct of field monitoring, validation and inspection of DA RFO and BFAR Programs, Projects, Activities (PPAs) in Davao Region last February 15-18, 2022.

This was also to ensure that the DA-PPAs were implemented in accordance with the operational plans and guidelines including fund utilization.

On February 16, 2022 he visited the sites in Santo Tomas and Tagum City with the Department of Agriculture XI.

On the following day, February 17, 2022, he went on site validation in BFAR XI's Multi Species Hatchery in Barangay Bato, and in Technology Outreach Station for Marine and Brackish Water, located in Barangay Tagabuli. These sites are both in Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur.

In particular, he wanted to check on the upgrading of BFAR XI Central Hatchery through installation of additional Larval Rearing Tanks, Rotifier Tanks and Phycology Laboratory.

He was also into Fingerling Bank Operation and Management and the establishment and maintenance of Milkfish Broodstock in Region XI.

In the afternoon, he went to Sasa Port to have a word with Financial Safety and Regulatory Agency.

On BFAR XI’s behalf we were represented by Regional Fisheries Management Regulatory and Enforcement Division and Fisheries Inspection and Quarantine Unit.
